EUR-USD - There are initial signs of a good corrective recovery towards 1.5813 or even 1.5841. Supports at 1.5753 and 1.5722 zone.
GBP-USD - 2.0062. It looks more likely that it would rise to above 2.0128 or 2.0162 from 2.0043 or 1.9993. After which a downside move to below 1.9924 is expected.
USD-JPY - Corrective dips should ideally halt near 99.45 or 99.1 for one more thrust upwards towards 99.90 - 100.34 area or 101.04 in extention. Fall below 98.75 puts it back on a downward path.
USD-CHF - It should test 0.9937 area after which a sell off down to 0.9886 or extended to 0.9835 area is expected.

Nymex Natural Gas Falls as Heating Demand Eases, Crude Tumbles

March 19 (Bloomberg) -- Natural gas declined as heating-fuel use ebbed and some commodities, including crude oil, declined amid an outlook for the U.S. economy to slow.
Spring arrives tomorrow in the U.S., which will pare the need for gas to run furnaces. Oil tumbled after the Energy Department reported that U.S. fuel demand dropped last week.
``Gold is down, silver is down and so is crude, so it looks like we're starting to see a little bit of unwinding of the commodity hedges,'' said Phil Flynn, a senior trader at Alaron Trading Corp. in Chicago. ``Natural gas is getting caught up in the overall sell-off.''
Gas for April delivery fell 39 cents, or 4.1 percent, to settle at $9.024 per million British thermal units at 3:06 p.m. on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Gas has risen 20 percent so far this year. Futures rose to more than a two-year high on March 13, closing at $10.23 per million Btu.
Crude oil for April delivery slipped $4.94, or 4.5 percent, to settle at $104.48 a barrel in New York. Oil is nine percent higher so far this year. Futures prices rose to $111.80 a barrel on March 17, the highest since trading began in 1983.
``As we get a renewed confidence in some of these other asset classes, like equities, some of the froth comes out of energy prices,'' said John Kilduff, the vice president of risk management at MF Global Ltd. in New York.
Commodities rose as investors sought a hedge against the U.S. dollar's decline. Speculators used natural gas as a cheaper alternative in an energy commodities rally that included crude and heating oil.
The fundamental underpinnings of gas demand, such as supply, suggest a price of $8.50 to $9 per million Btu, said Michael Dane, an analyst at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey in Houston.
LNG Imports
Analysts are most concerned with a delay in U.S. liquefied natural gas imports. ``It was around this week last year that we saw a big up-tick'' in import levels, said Dane. That hasn't happened this year.
Growing demand and higher prices in Europe and Asia have rerouted LNG shipments from the U.S. LNG is natural gas that has been cooled to a liquid for shipment by tankers to markets too distant for pipelines.
LNG imports are averaging 800 million cubic feet a day, less than half the daily average of a year ago, Stacy Nieuwoudt, an analyst at Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co. in Houston, said in a note yesterday.
Inventories
Inventories of natural gas probably fell 80 billion cubic feet last week, according to the median of 17 analyst estimates compiled by Bloomberg News. The five-year average change is a decline of 57 billion cubic feet, according to the Energy Department.
The department is scheduled to release its weekly inventory report tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. in Washington.
Inventories are probably going to end the winter heating season on March 31 at 1.275 trillion cubic feet, near the long- term average, Dane said.
Gas stockpiles were 1.398 trillion cubic feet in the week ended March 7, about 57 billion cubic feet higher than the five- year average of 1.341 trillion, the department said on March 13.

China Boosts Coal Output to Alleviate Power Shortage (Update1)

March 13 (Bloomberg) -- China's coalminers increased output by 13 percent in the first two months of the year to ease an electricity shortage after the heaviest snowstorms in five decades hampered transportation of the fuel to power plants.
Coal production rose to 360 million metric tons during January and February, according to an e-mailed statement today from the Beijing-based China National Bureau of Statistics.
Chinese coalminers continued production during the Lunar New Year holiday week in February as requested by the central government, after the country was hit by the heaviest snowstorms since 1954. China, which relies on coal to generate 78 percent of its electricity, shut 7 percent of its coal-fired power plants after bad weather disrupted fuel deliveries.
Shenhua Group Corp., China's biggest coal producer, is ``doing all the company can do to keep power companies supplied with the fuel,'' Luo Guibao, the company's spokesman, said on Jan. 30. Unit China Shenhua Energy Co. boosted production by 27 percent to 14.8 million tons in February, it said March 11.
China Coal Energy Co., the nation's second-largest miner, increased output by 13 percent in the first two months to 15.83 million tons, the Beijing-based company said on March 7.
China's electricity output increased 11 percent to 516.9 billion kilowatt-hours in the two months, the statistics bureau said. Crude oil output rose 1.2 percent to 30.78 million tons.

Oil Rises to Record for Fifth Day in New York on Weak Dollar.

March 11 (Bloomberg) -- Crude oil rose to a record for a fifth day, climbing above $109 a barrel in New York, after the weak dollar prompted traders to invest in commodities.
The euro rose to $1.5495 against the dollar, the highest since the single currency's introduction in 1999, after European Central Bank council member Axel Weber said he doesn't see any leeway to lower borrowing costs. The dollar rebounded from the day's low after the Federal Reserve said it will lend up to $200 billion of Treasury securities in exchange for debt.
``This is all about the dollar,'' said Adam Sieminski, Deutsche Bank's chief energy economist in New York. ``To a lot of the world the rise in prices isn't that severe because of the falling dollar. Also OPEC has no incentive to rein in prices with the dollar dropping.''
Crude oil for April delivery rose 85 cents, or 0.8 percent, to settle at $108.75 a barrel at 2:46 p.m. on the New York Mercantile Exchange, a record close. Futures surged to $109.72 a barrel today, the highest since trading began in 1983.
Brent crude for April settlement rose $1.09, or 1.1 percent, to close at a record $105.25 a barrel on London's ICE Futures Europe exchange. Futures reached a all-time high intraday price of $105.82 a barrel today.
``The decline of the dollar has a lot to do with the rise in prices,'' said Frank Verrastro, director of the Center for Strategic and International Studies energy program in Washington. ``People are looking at the oil market as a safe place to park their money in this time of economic uncertainty. The end users of oil are not major participants in this market.''
Bernanke's Efforts
Today's steps by the Federal Reserve are the latest in Chairman Ben S. Bernanke's effort to alleviate increasing strains in financial markets that are curtailing credit available to homeowners and companies.
``Oil prices have come off on the central bank action to add liquidity, which has strengthened the dollar,'' said Tom Bentz, a broker at BNP Paribas in New York. ``The trend is still up and it will take a lot more to break the back of this rally.''
The U.S. Dollar Index, a weighted gauge against the euro, yen, pound and three other currencies, fell to the lowest since the basket started trading in 1973 on March 7. The index touched 72.474 today, just short of the record low of 72.462.
``We started the year with the dollar index at 76 and the drop to 72 has been good for a $15 gain in oil,'' Sieminski said, ``When the index hits 70 the price of oil will hit $120.''
Ministers from the 13-nation Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries have said the drop in the dollar against currencies such as the euro and yen justifies higher oil prices.
In U.S. dollars, West Texas Intermediate, the New York- traded crude-oil benchmark, is up 81 percent from a year ago. Oil is up 55 percent in euros, 74 percent in British pounds and 58 percent in yen.
Demand Forecast
The International Energy Agency, an adviser to 27 developed nations, cut its forecast for 2008 global oil demand for a second month as record prices curbed consumption in some parts of the world. The agency reduced its forecast by 80,000 barrels a day to 87.54 million barrels a day, leaving annual demand growth at 2 percent, the IEA said today in a monthly report.
``It's a bubble and eventually it will burst,'' said Michael Lynch, president of Strategic Energy & Economic Research in Winchester, Massachusetts. ``The fundamentals aren't supportive of these prices. Today's IEA report sure looks bearish to me.''
OPEC left production targets unchanged on March 5 when officials met in Vienna, giving 12 of its 13 members a combined quota of 29.67 million barrels a day. The group pumped 32.1 million barrels a day in February, down by 120,000 barrels a day from revised January levels, according to the IEA.
White House Comment
White House spokeswoman, Dana Perino, said the administration of President George W. Bush is ``very concerned'' about high crude oil prices. ``We know it's impacting America's consumers and small businesses especially,'' she told reporters traveling with the president to Nashville aboard Air Force One.
``It would be wrong of the president to provide false hope to people who think that we are going to be able to have an immediate impact to reduce gas prices,'' Perino said. ``This is something that we're all going to have to work through.''
Gasoline for April delivery rose 1.12 cents, or 0.4 percent, to a record close of $2.7261 a gallon in New York. Futures touched $2.7435 earlier today, an intraday record for gasoline to be blended with ethanol, known as RBOB, which began trading in October 2005.
Pump prices are following futures higher. Regular gasoline, averaged nationwide, rose 0.5 cent to $3.227 a gallon yesterday, AAA, the nation's largest motorist organization, said. That matches the record reached on May 24.

Wahai hamba-hamba Allah, saya berpesan kepada kamu dan kepada diri saya sendiri supaya bertaqwa kepada Allah dengan mengikut sekali perintahnya dan meninggalkan segala larangannya, maka sesungguhnya berjayalah orang-orang yang bertaqwa. Carilah bekalan, sebaik-baik bekalan itu ialah bertaqwa kepada Allah.
Saudara-saudara sidang Jumaat
Untuk membuktikan ketaqwaan kita terhadap Allah S.W.T , marilah kita menerima hakikat kedatangan Rasulullah s.a.w kerana baginda adalah satu-satunya nabi akhir zaman. Penutup rasul2rasul kurniaan Allah S.W.T . Firman Allah S.W.T yang bermaksud : Kalau kamu kehendaki nescaya kami bangkitkan pada setiap kampung ini seorang rasul yang memberi pengajaran : (Al-Furqan: 51)
Namun begitu bagi manusia akhir zaman cukup dengan seorang rasul iaitulah nabi aMuhammad s.a.w . Namanya telah diisytiharkan oleh nabi-nabi di zaman dahulu. Kedatangannya membawa kitab Al-Quran Al-Karim. Cahaya yang menerangi seluruh alam laksana terbitnya matahari maka lampu-lampu tidak berguna lagi. Maka begitulah kitab-kitab yang dahulu di mansuhkan dan semua ajaran hendaklah ditinggalkan.
Walaupun demikian terdapat dikalangan manusia yang menolak petunujuk Allah S.W.T termasuk dikalangan penduduk Mekah, pimpinan-pimpinan dan orang-orang tua mereka yang melihat peristiwa kelahiran nabi Muhammad s.a.w, melihat akhlaknya yang mulia, kebijaksanaan akalnya yang luar biasa. Tetapi mereka tetap juga menolak ajaran nabi Muhammad s.a.w. Firman Allah : “Dan mereka berkata: Jika kami mengikuti petunjuk bersama kamu, niscaya kami akan diusir dari negeri kami. Dan apakah Kami tidak meneguhkan kedudukan mereka dalam daerah haram (tanah suci) yang aman, yang didatangkan ke tempat itu buah-buahan dari segala macam (tumbuh- tumbuhan) untuk menjadi rezki (bagimu) dari sisi Kami?. Tetapi kebanyakan mereka tidak mengetahui. (Al-Qasas : 57)
Sidang Jumaat yang dirahmati Allah:
Begitulah kejahilan dan kejahatan yang ditunjukkan oleh pemimpin Mekah. Mereka menunjukkan engkar mereka terhadap Al-Quran yang dibawa oleh nabi s.a.w dengan menuduh sekiranya petunjuk Al-Quran diikut huru haralah negara Mekah, akan susahlah kehidupan, akan berlakulah bencana dan berbagai kesusahan.
Mereka tidak menyedari bahawa Allah S.W.T meletakkan mereka dibumi Mekah yang kering kontang, tiada kebun dan buminya tidak subur tetapi manusia membawa semuanya itu dari seluruh pelosok dunia sejak dibuka di zaman Nabi Ibrahim a.s sehingga hari ini. Itu membuktikan bahawa rezeki dan keberkatan adalah kurniaan daripada Allah S.W.T.
Adapun mereka yang degil dan keras kepada itu menolak Nabi Muhammad s.a.w daripada menegakkan ajaran yang dating daripada Allah S.W.T sehingga memaksa Rasulullah s.a.w berhijrah ke Madinah.
Penduduk-penduduk Madinah dikalangan Aus dan Khazraj telah beriman kepada Allah S.W.T, Allah S.W.T melahirkan kepada mereka seorang rasul dan menjadikan umat yang paling besar dan berjaya memimpin dunia.
Umat yang pertama menjadi contoh dan teladan kepada seluruh manusia sehingga menundukkan kuasa-kuasa besar dizamannya dan kegemilangan Islam berterusan selepas itu beberapa abad.
Marilah kita menyedari hakikat yang di alami oleh umat Islam di hari ini. Umat Islam tidak lagi dianggap umat yang terbaik bahkan disenaraikan sebagai umat dunia ketiga. Umat yang papa dan hanyut dikalangan umat-umat yang lain. Apakah puncanya dan sebabnya.
Marilah kita membuat perhitungan dan menilai diri dengan seadil-adilnya. Tidak lain dan tidak bukan perkara itu berlaku apabila umat islam meninggalkan petunjuk yang dibawa oleh nabi Muhammad s.a.w. Ketahuilah bahawa bangsa-bangsa yang dianggap maju pada hari ini hanya dianggap maju dari segi kebendaan semata-mata.
Namun mereka telah kehilangan punca diluar daripda batas-batas kemanusiaan. Kerosakkan dan kemusnahan telah dianggap suatu perkara yang baik dan sebilangan perkara yang baik dikira buruk. Amanah dikhianati manakala pengkhianat telah dianggap sebagai pemegang amanah yang sebenar. Begitulah kecelaruan hidup dalam dunia pada hari ini.
Malangnya terdapat dikalangan umat Islam sendiri yang mengaku bahawa mereka adalah orang Islam dan penganut agama Islam, tetapi mereka bersikap seperti pemimpin-pemimpin mekah dizaman Rasulullah yang menolak petunjuk Al-Quran Al-Karim. Mereka berkata “kembali kepada Islam laksana kembali ke zaman mundur dan kembali kepada Al-Quran laksana sengaja menempah kemunduran dan kemusnahan, akan melesetlah segala ekonomi dan kehidupansekiranya mengikut halal dan haram sebgaimana yang diperintaholeh Allah S.W.T.
Maka mereka menjadi umat islam yang bercelaru dimana mereka beramal dengan muamalat Islam namun dalam masa yang sama mereka tidak berani mengharamkan riba dan mengharamkan rasuah bahkan mereka menganggap mengharamkan riba, arak dan menghapuskan premis-premis pelacuran dan maksiat akan menjejaskan pendapatan ekonomi kerana mengahalang kedatangan pelancong yang memberi sumber pendapatan kepada rakyat.
Lalu mereka beramal dengan ajaran islam yang direka oleh mereka sendiri, maka banyak hukum-hukum daripada Allah dan Rasululullah dipermain-mainkan.
Marilah kita menyedari bahawa Allah S.W.T memerintah orang-orang yang beriman supaya beramal dengan seluruh ajaran Islam. Beramal dengan sebahagian dan menolak dengan sebahagian yang lain adalah langkah-langkah syaitan. Firman Allah : “Wahai orang-orang Islam masuklah kamu ke dalam islam seluruhnya, dan janganlah kamu mengikut jejak langkah syaitan, sesungguhnya syaitan itu bagi kamu adalah musuh yang nyata. (Al-Baqarah : 208)
Marilah kita menyedari merebaknya penyakit masyarakat laksan barah yang tidak boleh diubati dengan undang-undang dan peraturan yang paling keras seperti membunuh pengedar dadah, menyebat mereka yang merogol dan sebagainya, namun jenayah dan maksiat semakin merebak. Sebabnya tidak lain dan tidak bukan kerana kita meninggalkan ubat yang diberikan oleh Allah S.W.T . Firman Allah S.W.T: “dan kami turunkan Al-Quran itu menjadi penyembuh kepada penyakit dan rahmat kepada orang-orang yang beriman, dan tidak menambahkan kepada mereka yang zalim melainkan kerugian semata-mata. (Al-Israa’).
Mengapakah dalam suasana begitu hebat Al-Quran dibaca, dibuka sekolah-sekolah tahfiz, tetapi penyakit-penyakit masyarakat terus merebak. Sebabnya mereka hanya menulis ayat –ayat tetapi tidak beramal dengan isi kandungannya. Laksana mereka mengambil ubat yang baik tetapi tidak dimakan.
Itulah hakikat umat Islam pada hari ini. Marilah kita menjadi umat yang sedar dan tidak berputus asa, untuk terus bangkit bersama-sama dengan Islam bagi menegakkan Islam di dalam diri kita dan tanahair yang tercinta ini. Dengarlah janji Allah S.W.T : “Dan Allah telah berjanji kepada orang-orang yang beriman di antara kamu dan mengerjakan amal-amal yang saleh bahwa Dia sungguh-sungguh akan menjadikan mereka berkuasa dimuka bumi, sebagaimana Dia telah menjadikan orang-orang sebelum mereka berkuasa, dan sungguh Dia akan meneguhkan bagi mereka agama yang telah diridhai-Nya untuk mereka, dan Dia benar-benar akan menukar (keadaan) mereka, sesudah mereka dalam ketakutan menjadi aman sentausa. Mereka tetap menyembahku-Ku dengan tiada mempersekutukan sesuatu apapun dengan Aku. Dan barangsiapa yang (tetap) kafir sesudah (janji) itu, maka mereka itulah orang-orang yang fasik.” (An-nur: 55
